East London based Molly’s Lipps fuse louche eighties vocals with dirty grunge guitar sounds and soaring MGMT-esque synths layered atop pulsating, pace-changing drums. Having piqued the interest of several labels the six piece band have quickly become ones to Read the rest of this entry »
Back in Gibraltar Guy recorded the songs he’d written whilst ‘couch surfing’ thanks to the support of a few gents who believed in his music, and after promoting it at home, he returned to London to give things another go. A long way from “The Rock”, Valarino’s debut EP ‘Sleeping on a Couch’ brings you acoustic pop/rock with soulful melodies that speak of life, love, sand and sea. Full of warm sounds reminiscent of Mediterranean shores, the EP came to be when Guy first moved to London in spring of 2008. Read the rest of this entry »

Maybe I am completely out of the loop here, but I’ve never heard of this beautiful angel before. She had breakthrough articles n such written in 2009, so I must be losing it or getting old. Google her name, Nina Kraviz, and you’ll get articles, beautiful images, tracks, mixes, and something you don’t get with many djs, a really beautiful face to go with it. Read the RA article on her life HERE n check out her stylish dance music video below. Must admit, I am rather proud for my homeland right now (and this doesn’t happen often).
The well connected Souleance with their La Belle Vie LP. All rounder nice vibes with soul, jazz, downtempo, hip hop n breaks flowing seamlessly throughout this beautiful patchwork of a tune. Great duo I’ve recently been followin’ on Soundcloud. Their names are here n there nowadays, so there’s a good chance you might of already gotten the low down. A Leeds/Nottingham duo, these guys are good at what’s really “in” right now. a UK bass sound, standard, but produced with flow n energy, which us bloggers have to sit there n decipher. A lot is written bout them on their video info, which you head over to directly HERE. There’s also the Soundcloud for duo, Mak & Pasteman, and enjoy the video for their track Do the Same below. If I had posted this earlier, I could see it even ending up on the month’s playlist.

Happy Easter! Tom did a great job of last month’s playlist and inspired me to make this month’s just as good (if not better). This month’s playlist is made up of mostly new tracks that I’ve been feeling recently and is very bass heavy. There’s lot’s more that I wanted to include but I capped it at 14 tracks.
One track that I definitely would’ve included if it was on Grooveshark is Lee Stevens & The Beautiful People’s “Ridin’ High”, An absolute gem that I discovered on no other than our very own LMB. Fear not though as we’ve get plenty more to keep you entertained. Read the rest of this entry »
