Following an investigation by Channel 4’s Dispatches, it has been revealed that tickets for concerts by major artists are being sold under the guise of re-sold tickets. The programme focused on the site Viagogo, one of the largest ticket re-sellers, finding that the vast majority of tickets sold were actually from either large-scale professional ticket re-sellers or allocated by promoters.

Viagogo, which attempted to employ an injunction against the broadcast, stated that they are an “open marketplace” and that they do not “disallow larger sellers, including event organisers, from selling on our platform.”
